  am,  is,  are,  was,  were. 

  brave: always protect others. 勇敢的:总是保护他人.

  fearful: never protect others. 恐惧的:从不保护他人.

2.Past simple(一般过去时): 

   Subject + Verb to be(past tense) + adjective

   主语 + be动词(过去式) + 形容词

   I was tall.  You were cute.  He was ugly.
